Outfit: Leaves that are Green

It’s been a terribly gloomy weekend, but that won’t stop me from being that crazy lady in the woods taking pictures of herself. For both these pictures and the ones I’ll be posting later in the week, it was drizzling now and then, with big storms bookending the drives out to each spot.  Thankfully, no downpours during the shoot like that time I was stuck on a covered bridge for an hour!

Besides, shooting in less-than-ideal conditions has been a fun challenge for me.  I can be a little prissy about taking pictures, in that I always try to shoot during the twilight hours when the lighting is just A+ perfect.  But this weekend, with the rain coming down, down, down the whole time, I had to get out of my comfort zone.  I actually really like the way these turned out–there’s something about the gray skies that just seems to be perfect for October.

On top of that, there’s really nothing nicer than coming in from the rain and settling down with a hot cup of tea and a cozy blanket and a fuzzy dog, is there?  The only thing I can think of to make that scene any better is a warm pumpkin cinnamon roll, and that’s exactly what I’ve been snacking on lately.

All in all, I’ve been feeling pretty good about things, better than I was last week.  Seems all I needed was some pumpkin spice and a new challenge!

    1. I’m glad the lighting ended up working out all right in the end. Hopefully there’ll be some good sunsets to work with soon, though!

  1. So glad that the rain decided to hold off long enough for you to get your photos! These turned out really nicely, and I like the grey skies. They really do suit the October “mood”.

    1. Thanks! I’m really happy with how these turned out, and that I even got to take them in the first place. Mother Nature is a tricky lady!

  2. I’m glad you’re feeling better about things this week! I agree about overcast days but I also like to shoot in them because there are less people out and about haha! I looooveee your shoes!

    1. Haha I totally hear you on that! Would you believe there were people taking homecoming pictures not far from where I was shooting?? I thought the weather would have been perfect for a solitary shoot, but NO!

I'd love to hear from you!
