Here’s my other favorite post from last fall! It’s funny how much I apparently hated these pictures when I originally wrote this post, because I think they actually turned out pretty cute. Isn’t it strange how that happens sometimes?
Here are a few blogging tips from yours truly:
- Don’t take pictures fifteen minutes before sunset. This should be obvious, but sometimes you might be feeling a little extra Type A and think you can do it. Nope. For one thing, you have to have a super slow shutter speed, which means unless you stand perfectly still like a dead Victorian, the photo will be blurry. And I can’t stand still for the life of me. Besides that, you’ll be so rushed that you can’t fine tune poses or camera angles, which means there won’t be such a great variety to work with.
- Don’t be tipsy. The fact that I had one beer before I did these photos (shut up, I’m a lightweight) may have been a contributing factor for the mediocrity of these shots. (No pun intended.)
So why even post these pictures? Well, apart from it being a particularly cute outfit, I think it’s important for me to document both the times when I’ve nailed a shoot and times when I’ve failed. The pictures in this post are now documented for posterity and as a reminder to focus on quality. I actually did some photos today that I spent a lot of time on and am much prouder of, so look forward to those on Thursday!
