Remix: Lacy White Button-Down

DSC_0106

As a style blogger, one of the things I strongly believe in is wearing the same pieces over and over again.  A lot of my clothes are very well-loved (read: almost in rags) because I wear them so much.  And I don’t get tired of them.  Instead, I like to mix and match key items in my closet.  I don’t really have as many clothes as you might imagine, and I actually think I’d be overwhelmed if I had more!  I prefer working with what I’ve got and sticking to more of a capsule wardrobe mentality.

Enter this white button-down.  I thrifted it in the spring, and now it’s one of the first things I wear after I do my laundry.  It goes with EVERYTHING.  Seriously.  It goes with practically every skirt and pair of pants and shorts I own–solids, prints, bright colors, it doesn’t matter.  While it won’t ever take the place of my spiky collar top, it comes pretty damn close.  Here are some of the ways I’ve worn it so far:

What about you?  What’s one of the pieces you can’t stop wearing?

  1. Oh my word that top is darling + all of these outfits are absolutely the prettiest. Love, love your style!! And with you, I prefer to keep a smaller closet each season, and focus on remixing… I too get overwhelmed if I have too many items to choose from!! xo

    1. Thank you so much! I really love your style as well 🙂 And I’m glad to know I’m not the only blogger who keeps a pared-down closet!

  2. Wow, it really does go with everything. I love basics like that! I don’t always reach for the same piece, but I am working towards having a cohesive wardrobe where I can mix and match everything for new combinations.

    1. I think that’s an excellent plan! I once read somewhere that you should look for basics with a twist, and that advice has always stuck with me. When you do that, you can mix and match all the time but that “twist” will always keep the outfit interesting.

    1. Don’t you just love stuff like that? I once read that you should always buy basics with a twist to keep your outfits a little interesting, and I try to do that as much as possible. I’m glad you’re getting tons of use out of something similar!
