Well, after almost a week in Sarasota, I’m back in Chicago. And I don’t want to be back–at least, not yet.
Sarasota is definitely a place I could get used to. Frequent trips to the beach and splashing through warm saltwater, sipping on daiquiri after daiquiri, wandering through the farmers’ market, sampling craft beers and rum…I’m sure it would take me ages to get sick of that!
It’s been nearly three years since I’ve gone on vacation, so it was a much-needed retreat. I didn’t miss waking up every morning at 5 to work all day and then come home and run all kinds of silly errands! Still, as much as I want to wallow in the end of my vacation, it’s time to get focused again.
I’ve been working harder than ever on my photography lately, and I hope that taking a week off won’t hurt my progress all that much. I feel like I’m coming into my own style, and I love developing it. I took these pictures a couple of weeks ago and was very pleased at how they turned out, and I’m even more excited to share the next set of pictures soon! At least the prospect of working on my blog and all this good stuff will carry me out of my doldrums again!
