Outfit: No Sleep Till Brooklyn

This outfit was inspired by a movie poster I used to pass every day on my way home from the gym.  DSC_1326

It was for Brooklyn, which I understand is about a young Irish lady making her way in New York in the ’50s, but truth be told, I haven’t seen it!  It’s on my to-watch list, but I’m really bad at making time to sit down and spend a couple of hours doing nothing.  In any case, that poster alone has stuck with me, and I’ve thought about it a lot as I come up with outfits.  Here it is:

I know my own ensemble isn’t an exact match, but I think I got the flavor of it with the things I already have in my closet–a white collared shirt with a cardigan, a printed skirt, low heels, and a big ol’ leather (or fake leather, in my case!) bag.

I don’t normally put together outfits with the intent of matching a certain look, but this time, I couldn’t resist.  Perhaps there will be more of these movie-inspired posts in the future!
