Outfit Rerun: Underneath it All

Editor’s note: This is the second of two outfit “reruns” that I’m posting this season.  I took a short blogging vacation, so I thought I’d share a couple of my favorite outfit posts from the summer before I get back into the crazy world of tripods and timers!

As I write this post, I’m sitting at my new table in the breakfast nook of my studio, and I can hardly believe it.  This doesn’t seem real, even though all my clothes are put away in the closet, my art is hanging on the walls, and my dog is sleeping in my bed.  I’ve never lived by myself before, and this feels sort of like vacation.  I suppose tomorrow, when I go back to work (note: I wrote this post on Sunday, 7/19!), everything will settle into a routine, but for now, this is almost magical.

The last few days have gone by so quickly that they’re almost a blur, but suffice it to say that besides a few little bumps (namely, getting Moxie accustomed to doing her business on a leash instead of in a yard and dealing with the 37 steps it takes to reach my apartment), everything worked out as smoothly as I could have hoped.

I’ve been trying to explore the neighborhood as much as possible this week, and let me tell you, this place is beautiful.  It seems like there are massive Victorian houses (nay, manors!) on every street, more boutiques and restaurants than I can shake a stick at, and art everywhere, even around the L stop.

Which is where I took my pictures today.  I’m so used to traipsing around parks and forests for these shoots that I wanted to change it up a little.  I set up shop in front of some murals and had at it.  Not that this outfit would really “go” with a forest, anyway!

(Side note: yes, I was dying in those shorts.)

Anyway, now that I’ve settled in nicely, I am determined to get back into the swing of things, blogging-wise.  Expect to see more frequent and varied posts soon.  Devinne’s back, youse guys!

  1. Yay! Congrats on your new place! And this outfit is so cute- I especially love the top and shoes. 😀

  2. I just noticed that the print in your headband kind of calls back to the painted wall behind you! I like the punk-rock vibe of your outfit 🙂

I'd love to hear from you!
