Here’s the thing about me and stress: as much as I work myself up, get anxious, and generally freak out about all the things I need to do, I absolutely thrive on it.
Over the last few months, I’ve become that person who’s always busy. At work, I despise taking breaks and generally prefer to forge ahead all day long. At home, I fill up all my leisure time with runs, taking pictures, teaching myself photography, walking and playing with Moxie, cooking, seeing friends, “dating” (I’m conveniently going out with a guy who’s super busy all the time, too), and not letting my butt touch a single chair. It’s kind of like the “floor is lava” game for grown-ups.
Sometimes I get to a point where I consciously understand that I need to take a break. At those times, I write a note in my planner to take a break. I’ve even begun scheduling one “rest” day each week for me to do nothing. The thing is, when I get to those times and days, I want to fly to pieces!
Still, I know it’s good for me, so I’ve been practicing resting. I’m not that good at it right now, but I hope that soon I can be a regular couch potato (or bed potato, since I don’t have a couch).
Anyway, these pictures are from a day when I was supposed to rest but didn’t. How could I pass up this gorgeous evening, though? Speaking of resting and generally letting loose, I’m getting kind of sick of this “serious” thing going on in all of my pictures. I gotta start teaching myself to have fun, too!
