Outfit: Walk with Me

I don’t know if you recall, but one of the things I was excited about in my new town was this “enchanted forest” of a park that was tucked up in one corner of downtown.  Last week, I finally had time to take some pictures there, and boy, I really love how they came out!  The park features a winding, tree-canopied path which runs around a clearing that the local theater troupe uses for its summer productions.  This path abounds with overgrown foliage and art installations alike–though it’s only a block square, it feels like something I could get lost in!  Right behind old houses, natural areas like this one are my favorite places to shoot at.  There’s so much to interact with that I almost forget I’m supposed to be taking pictures of myself.

I was really excited to wear this new headband–I bought it while I was at Pierogi Fest in in Whiting, Indiana.  I went with a few friends last weekend and gorged myself on homemade pierogis and sarsaparilla, and I even entered a polka contest with one of my pals.  (We lost within seconds.)  While we ambled up and down the festival route, I found a woman selling handmade wire headbands for $5 a pop.  Since these normally run about $15 on ModCloth, I couldn’t pass them up and ended up taking home two.

Also, I think this post marks the first time I’ve worn a bracelet in a shoot.  I have a really hard time finding bracelets that fit, but this one, which belonged to my mom, is just right.  If anyone knows of a good place to find small bracelets (and rings, for that matter), please let me know!

  1. Wow! The Enchanted Forest does indeed look enchanted! What a great photo location. Love your dress and headband. I can’t believe it was only $5! I know I paid close to $15 for mine, sigh. Your mom’s bracelet is gorgeous, too. It’s funny, the only bracelet I have that fits me is a little gold one that’s my mom’s as well. I also love that you entered a polka contest – that is too awesome!

    1. I can’t lie, Pierogi Fest was a little bit like how I imagine heaven to be. I use a Nikon D3300, and I love it! However, my photographer uncle uses a Canon, so I guess take my advice with a grain of salt!
