Outfit: By the Mill

Get ready for a bumpy ride.

I decided that after two months of blogging (and loving blogging), it was time to invest in a proper camera.  This entire time, I had been taking pictures on my phone, and while I have to give props to Samsung, I wasn’t happy with the photos anymore.  It was time to move on and see what else was out there.

And that’s when I came by my new Nikon D3300.  Nothing too fancy–just something to give me that blurry background I’d be coveting for so long.

I think it’s going to take me a long time to figure out what I’m doing.  I know I shouldn’t expect to be good at it right away–even though I wish I was–so until I do pick up some more skills, I have to be okay with some not-so-great photos in the process.

What’s something you’re learning to do right now?

Jacket: old, H&M

Sleeveless top: old, Urban Outfitters

Skirt: ModCloth

Shoes: old, Gap

Bag: Melie Bianco (similar)

  1. Lovely outfit! And congratulations on your new camera! I was in the same boat as you not too long ago. My Samsung phone was doing a fine job, but I was never going to get that blurry background like all the other bloggers.

I finally bit the bullet a few months ago and bought a Canon T5i, and I have no idea how I survived before it. Haha. However, I may be learning how to use it properly for the rest of my life!

I have found Lightroom to be a very important tool for me, though. If I mess up a setting on my camera while taking pictures, I can always go back and correct it with Lightroom.

Best of luck with your new camera!

    1. Wow, thank you for such a thoughtful comment! It’s nice to know I’m not the only one learning. Your pictures always look great, so I hope in time mine will look better, too!

I'd love to hear from you!
