This particular dress is significant to me because of what it reveals.  Since I was a teenager, I’ve had really bad acne, and it’s been a slow process trying to get rid of it.  At 25, it’s finally starting to go away, in some measure due to great moisturizer, but mostly thanks to my birth control pills.  My back is scarred to the point where it will never be smooth, but at least I now feel all right enough to put up my hair and wear a dress like this.  In keeping with this year’s theme, I’m all about taking control and owning up to who I am and what I look like, and this dress is a great example of that.
