Today’s outfit was inspired by none other than the White Stripes, the love of my musical life.  From about 12 through 16, I listened almost exclusively to their music or to music that inspired or influenced them.  Posters, magazine clippings, and pictures I printed from the internet were all taped to my walls, and I could think of no happier fate than to marry Jack White.

To say I was obsessed would be a bit of an understatement.  The crowning achievement of my Stripes phase was wearing exclusively red, black, and white.  Every day.  For three years.  My commitment was unshakeable.  People noticed, and they probably scoffed, but I couldn’t possibly care.  Even back then, I was resolutely impervious to whatever people though of my clothes.

Today was an homage to those days.  While I no longer want to be Jack White’s bride and have since moved on to a much more eclectic taste in music, I still love the band and its simple little color palette.
