winter has suddenly crept around the corner again and this can only mean one thing; its time for a Winter wardrobe update.
Here at moxandsocks we decided to find Winter style inspiration from some of our fashion forward moxandsocks. So get ready to wrap up warm and find your favourite key pieces, accessories and more!
1. The Knit
From oversized polo necks to side split detail, knitwear is a Winter wardrobe must have.
Chanel paved the way for embellished knits at their Haute Couture A/W14 show. This trend has filtered through our beloved high street stores.
Topshop, Zara and Armani have a range of eye catching knitwear come in a variety of colours (yes that is right you can have colour in a Winter).
Eyelash yarn, ribbed and cable knit are the most popular materials; these Styleicona’s show us how to wear this trend.
Coordinates have recently become a style staple for any Moxandsocks and you may think this is Summer attire but Miss Guided and ASOS.
2. The Scarf
Burberry took the catwalk by storm with Cara Delevigne’s personalised blanket scarf creating a frenzy among the high street stores.
Get a similar look to this Moxandsocks from New Look and Next.
Coloured fur is an effective quick fix to an outfit and probably the one that will cost you the least.
Boohoo does a Burberry inspired piece, Armani goes monochrome with these cute cuffs but we really love the baby blue snood from ASOS.
3. The Coats
60’s style has definitely come back around this year, with Marks and Spencer’s take on the trend you will be sure to get noticed just like this Styleicona.
Mid calf can be very flattering. However, if you are short like me either add a heel or choose a shorter length like @fahsionbynicole wearing charcoal grey.
Dress this Primark caramel tan coat with all white and neutrals to get @dazhaneleah’s modern classic look.
Take after this Moxandsocks with the maxi coat, a favourite among bloggers and bound to bring you style points. ASOS have a maxi mac coat that is (don’t get too excited) in the sale.
What would be Winter without a fur coat this Moxandsocks shows off her fabulous purchase; buy similar from Topshop.
If you’re not a fan of fur why not try sheepskin shearling; very fashionable and it will definitely keep you cosy! Buy the trend from Miss Guided.
4. The Leather
We love culottes at Moxandsocks so we became obsessed with this Styleicona’s #ootd! Zara always brings out the best of the best and it cannot get any better than these Zara leather drawstring culottes.
Moxandsocks @lawrenrae shows us why leather jackets have been a wardrobe basic season after season adding a little edge to this glamorous outfit. Another helpful Styleicona adding that her jacket is from Topshop.
These ASOS Leather peg trousers couldn’t have looked better on Moxandsocks @theshoechateau, match with a smart shirt like this trendsetter for work or team with a denim shirt for an off duty vibe.
Thank you to these Moxandsocks for tagging their brands otherwise we could of been looking for weeks!
5. The Statement Accessories
As you can see above and below; Fedora hats are back! Alongside the trusted wool and felt feel floppy Winter hats.
Moxandsocks are going crazy for this accessory right now, we love the classic grey and black but this cream Urban Outfitters suits this Moxandsocks down to a T!
6. The Boot
Boots are an essential for Winter wear, from Chelsea to over the knee. Boots are any easy way to spruce up an outfit. We love this Moxandsocks Givenchy inspired Jessica Buurman boots.
Cute chelsea boots are a sweet stylish addition to jeans and a tee. Boots don’t just need to be black, Gucci and Tom Ford both embraced fierce prints and bold colours.

7. The ‘it’ Bag
Think comic book chic and quirky quotes inspired by the likes of Sophia Webster and Charlotte Olympia. Alexander Wang had everyone in awe with the blue sneaker bag set to be the ‘it’ clutch of bag of the season.
All shades of brown are also making a comeback in accessories but especially for handbags.
Meanwhile, at the Moxandsocks we cannot wait to get our hands on this fluffy bag from Moxandsocks @saffronpeacock.
8. The Gilet
We’ve been told gilets go smart, furry and maxi for Autumn and we couldn’t agree more with this Front Row Shop and Topshop’s cute Khaki number.
Perfect for those in-between days of British weather when your iPhone tells you it’s snowing and you spend the rest of the day peed off about not bringing your sunglasses to work.
We adore this Moxandsocks @theshoechateau in her black smart and maxi gilet and jacket.
